Our Mission
At Conner Trails, our mission is to forge a sanctuary where compassion meets action, dedicated to uplifting the human spirit through meaningful connections with horses and providing a haven for rescue horses in need. We believe in the power of healing, learning, and growing together, nurturing a community where every individual—human and horse alike—can find peace, purpose, and joy. Our collective efforts aim to make a lasting impact, one rescue, one ride, and one heart at a time.
The inspiration for Conner Trails began with Frostie, a five year old stallion who was deemed undesirable by the initial humans who owned him. He was skin and bones with an open, infected wound that took up almost his whole neck. For the cost of a vet bill, he came home. It took him over a year and a half to recover and to finally understand that not all humans were bad. He taught my kids, and many others, how to love something other than themselves.
Then came Sam. He originally did not have a name, he was just auction number 287. He seemed docile, until we brought him home and he went through withdrawal from all the drugs they used to keep him in line. It was touch and go, where we thought he wasn't going to make it, but he was tough. He hated people, rightfully so, but within a couple years he too started to believe in people….. he was just more selective.
the story of Grace, a once-forgotten mare whose resilience and gentle spirit touched our hearts. Found in a state of neglect, Grace's journey from rescue to recovery highlighted the profound impact of empathy and care. Her transformation ignited our passion to create a place of refuge and connection. Grace's story is a testament to our mission, embodying the spirit of Conner Trails, where every horse gets a chance to thrive and every person an opportunity to be moved by the grace of these magnificent creatures.
